The inspiration for creating the Elder pool enclosure form came from viewing Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s painting “The Tower of Babel,” which depicts a majestic, monumental structure – the mythical tower in the city of Babylon that, according to legend, was never completed. The external might of the building became the foundation of the concept behind the Elder design sketch.
